At Collin A.C. Asistencia a Migrantes en Oaxaca, your generosity helps power Casa Collin, a 90-bed shelter located in the heart of Oaxaca de Juárez. Thanks to your support, we continue to offer a safe, secure space with warm meals, showers, medical care, and social services to individuals and families navigating incredibly difficult journeys.

Reaching People in Need

One of our key goals this season is to expand awareness of our services—particularly among communities that regularly interact with migrants. Ensuring migrants know where to find help is the first step in providing real, tangible support.

While we are currently experiencing a brief lull in northbound migration, we are preparing for a likely increase in southbound migration in the coming months, as U.S. policies shift and conditions grow more challenging for migrants attempting to remain there.

Stories of Resilience: Meet Karla & Henderson

Among the families currently residing at Casa Collin are Karla, Henderson, and their 7-year-old son, who arrived in Oaxaca after a long and difficult journey from Venezuela. With legal guidance from OIM and early support from MANOS, they are in the process of applying for asylum in Mexico.

After months of uncertainty, they’ve begun building a new life here in Oaxaca. Their son is now enrolled in school, and the family is focused on creating a stable, hopeful future. For them, education is the key to thriving—and their joy is both moving and motivating.
